Moongdal Murukulu

Everyone love to have snacks. Now its time to have very special murukulu which is made of Moong dal. Previously I have posted murukulu which is made of fried channa dal and rice flour. This is little variation to that recipe. Here is the recipe for it...

Ingredients:

Rice flour- 4 cups
Moong dal- 1 cup
Salt- to taste
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Oil- 2tsp+ for frying
Ajwain- 1 tsp
Til nuts- 2tsp
Turmeric- Pinch

Preparations:
Take moong dal in a bowl, wash it well and soak abt 10mts then pressure cook it till dal is boiled well. Mash it with the spoon and cool it.

Method:
1. Heat oil for frying in a frying pan.
2. Meanwhile in a bowl, take the rice flour add salt, chilli powder, ajwain, til nuts, turmeric and mix well .
3. Add 2tsp of warm oil to it and mix well.
4. Now add boiled dal to it and make a soft dough. You need not add any extra water to it. Since you have added the boiled dal. If the dough is little hard then you can sprinkle some water and make dough. (But for the 1:4 ratio of dal and rice flour you may not need any extra water to make dough).
5. Now take your murukulu maker or presser, arrange the proper murukulu plate in it, apply oil to inner surfaces, then take some amount of dough and put inside the maker, close the lid.
6. When the oil is hot, press directly in the hot oil. Fry on both sides till it is golden colour.
7. In a plate, arrange a tissue paper and place all the fried murukulu on it so that the excess oil is observed by it. Once the murukulu is cool down, arrange them in a air tight container and enjoy with your family.

Notes:

1. Don't fry them till dark brown colour. Just golden colour is sufficient since once they cool down they will get thick colour.
2. It can be preservbed abt 2 to 3 weeks by placing them in air tight container.

All you need: A frying pan, spatula and murukulu maker.

It's a very tasty snack item which will be loved by all your family members. Thanks. bye
