Tomato Dosa






Every time we are bored of eating masala dosa or plain dosa. Now its time to have fun with variety dosa called Tomato dosa. You may get doubt that the name contains tomato so is it made of tomatoes??? U r right, it is made of tomatoes. The recipe is simple to make but lovely taste. Many people get frustated of soaking the rice and grind it then ferment it for hours and hours then prepare dosa. This dosa does not need any fermentation at all. Here is the recipe

Ingredients:

Rice- 1 cup
Tomatoes- 4 no
Salt- to taste
Oil- for frying dosa
Red chillies- 8 no
Turmeric- pinch
Jeera- 1 tsp
Hing- pinch (optional)

Preparations:
Wash and soak the rice abt 2 hrs.

Method:
1. Add rice to the blender along with all other ingredients except oil and grind as smooth batter.
2. Add salt and water then mix well and make very thin batter. The batter consistency should be loose so that you are able to pour on the tavva instead of spreading it with spatula.
3. Meanwhile heat the skillet or tavva, add 1 tsp of oil and spread it all over. Then pour the dosa batter starting from the edges. Sprinkle oil on top and fry dosa on both the sides.
4. The delicious tomato dosa is ready to be served.

Note:
1. You can serve the dosa with ground nut or coconut chutney or it also goes well with any mango pickle.
2. After grinding the batter, you just start preparing dosa's. You can also ferment it abt 30mts to 1 hr. That should be sufficient.
