Odappalu or Mettati billalu






This is kind of snacks or breakfast or whatever. This is made during the festival time. It is called Odappalu or Mettati billalu. It is made of rice flour. It can be preserved about 2days. It taste really awesome.
Ingredients:
Rice flour- 2cups
Water- to prepare the dough
Salt- for taste
Turmeric powder- pinch
Chilli powder- 2tsp or for taste
Ajwain or vaamu- 1tbsp
Jeera - 1tbsp
Oil- for frying+1tbsp
Sessame seeds- 2tbsp
Preparations:
1. Heat 1tbsp of oil (luke warm) and keep aside.
2. Heat 1cup of water or to mix the dough till boiling ponit and keep aside.
Method:
1. In a bowl, take rice flour, add salt, chilli powder, turmeric, ajwain, sessame seeds, jeera, add luke warm oil and mix everything very well.
2. Add boiled water little by little to the flour and mix as tough dough. Please becareful the water is really hot.
3. Make dough, apply little oil on top of it.
4. Divide it into equal and small round balls, take 1 ball, apply little flour on it, roll as a small round size puri with a rolling pin (same as puri). Like wise prepare all the puris. (If u take large amount of dough, cover it with a wet cloth or a lid, just not to get dried).
5. Heat oil for frying in a kadai, check the heat, drop a puri and fry on both sides (don't overcook or burn it, fry on medium flame).
6. Like wise fry all the puris and put them on a tissue paper so that excess oil is absorved by it.
7. U can store them in a air tight container and serve whenever you want.
Note: It does not need any side dish. If u want you can serve with any pickle or raita.
