Bread Upma




Bread Upma is wonderful dish made with the bread slices but given a traditional flavour and look to it. Kids will hesitate to eat bread sometimes, so that time u can prepare this dish and tell them that it is upma or anything, they love to eat it since it has got nice flavour and soft texture also it will melt in their mouth. So try this recipe and enjoy with your family members...
Ingredients:
Bread slices- 5 no
Coriander leaves- 2 tbsp
Tomato- 1 medium
Green chillies- 2 no
Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
Oil- 3 tbsp
Salt- to taste
Turmeric- pinch
Lemon juice- 1tsp
Mustard seeds- 1tsp
Jeera- 1tsp
Urad daal- 1tsp
Onion- 1 big
Curry leaves- few
Green peas- 1/4 cup (optional)
Corn- 1/4 cup (optional)
Carrots- 1 grated(optional)
Potato- 1 medium
Chat masala- for taste or optional
Preparations:
1. Boil the potato, peal and chop into cubes.
2. Chop the bread slices into small and desired sized cubes.
3. Chop the tomato, onion, cilantro, green chillies very finely and keep aside.
Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds when they start crackle, add jeera, turmeric, urad daal, curry leaves and fry a minute.
2. Add chopped chillies, onions, tomatoes and fry till onions becomes crispy.
3. Add potato, peas, grated carrot and corn then cook for 3mts. (I haven't added any of them now since I was in a hurry to prepare it)
4. Add salt, chilli powder, lemon jucie, mix well.
5. Add cubed bread slices, sprinkle some water, mix well and cook abt 2mts.
6. Finally add cilantro, chat masala and turn off the stove.
Now the dish is ready and serve hot as it is.
Note:
Add any varities of Vegetables.
Serve immediately.
