Besan gravy







Besan gravy is a South Indian dish for the combination of puri and chapathi's. It is very simple to prepare but tastes good.
Here is the recipe for it.
Ingredients:
Besan flour- 2 tbsp or required
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Jeera- 1 tsp
Urad daal- 1 tsp
Hing- pinch
Turmeric- pinch
Onion - 1 medium
Green chilli- 3 no
Garlic- 2 no
Curry leaves- 4 no
Coriander leaves- 2 tbsp
Salt- for taste
Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
Oil- 2 tsp
Lemon juice- 1 tsp(Optional)
Water- required
Tomatoes- 1 medium
Carrots- 1 big
Green peas- 1/4 cup
Potatoes- 1/2
Ginger- grated -1/2 tsp
Preparations:
1. Wash and chop all vegetables and keep aside.
2. Take besan flour in a bowl, add little water, mix well without lumps and keep aside.
Procedure:
1. Heat oil in the pan, add hing, mustard seeds, when they crackle add jeera.
2. Add turmeric, urad daal, curry leaves, green chilli, garlic and ginger, stir well and fry for 1mt.
3. Add onion chpped, cook till they become transparent.
4. Now add all chopped vegetables, peas, salt, water, chilli powder, mix well, keep the lid and cook till all vegetables turn little soft.
5. Add besan flour mix little by little into the pan, and stir well in other hand (that it should not form any lumps). Check the consistency, add extra water if required. Mix well, keep the lid and cook till raw taste of besan goes.
6. Finally add chopped cilantro and lemon juice.
Serve hot with chapathi or puri..
Note:
1. U can exclude the vegetables if u don't want.
