Pittu 2 (Variation to Pittu1)








This Pittu2 is almost like dosa, its not a instant one. This is made of rice and atukulu (poha). This is my in-laws recipe. I came to know about it very recently. I tried it and came out really good, so I wanted to share with u guys. Enjoy it.

Ingredients:

Rice- 2 cups
Atukulu(Puffed rice or poha)- 1 cup
Channa daal- 1/4 cup
Green chilli- 4 no
Salt- for taste.
Ginger- inch slice( Optional)

Preparations:

1. Wash and soak the rice about 6 to 8hrs(or overnight).
2. Chop the green chilli.

Method:

1. Wash the rice again after it soaked abt 8hrs.
2. In a grinder, add rice, poha, green chilli, ginger, add enough water, blend as a fine batter.
3. Add salt and washed channa daal to the batter.
4. Set it for fermentation about 6hrs. After 6hrs, stir well, check the salt.
5. Heat the daosa tavva, sprinkle oil, add batter and spread it with spoon (Same as any dosa), turn the other side and fry on both sides.
6. Serve hot with coconut chutney or ground nut chutney...
