Cabbage Chutney



Cabbage Chutney:
Basically most of the people hesitate to eat the cabbage curry or anything made of cabbage. Here is the easy recipe to prepare cabbage chutney. Definitely nobody findsout that it is made of cabbage untill you tell them. It is the best way to use cabbage which is very healthy too.

Ingredients:
1. Cabbage- 1 cup (Shredded or chopped thin)
2. Salt- for tatse
3. Tamrind- small lemon sized
4. Oil- 2tbsp
5. Hing- Pinch
6. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
7. Jeera- 1 tsp
8. Curry leaves- 5 no
9. Garlic cloves- 2 no
10. Ginger- inch slice
11. Green chilli- 4 no
12. Red chilli- 3 no
14. Coriander leaves- for taste
15. Tomatoes- 1 small
16. Urad daal- 1tsp
Preparations:
1. Wash and chop the cabbage into small slices
2. Slice the tomoto, green chilli, coriander leaves
3. Wash the tamarind
4. Peal the garlic and slice it, wash and peal the ginger
Method:
1. In a pan, add chopped cabbage, tomato slices, jeera and fry abt 3mts. Switch off the stove and cool it
2. In a blender add cooled cabbage mix, tamarind, salt, green chilli's, garli, ginger, curry leaves(2 no) and little coriander chopped and add enough water and grind it as a coarsed paste.
3. seasoning: In a pan, heat the oil, add mustard and jeera seeds, turmeric and hing, curry leaves, red chilli, urad daal and fry abt 3mts and cool it.
4. Now add the seasoning to the cabbage chutney, mix well. Check the seasoning and salt.
5. Add freshly chopped coriander leaves.
Note:
1. The chutney can be served with Rice, Chapathi and Paratha's.
