Semiya Upma (Rice noodles upma) is a tasty breakfast also easy to prepare. No need to prepare any side dish, it can be eaten as it is or can be served with any picle or podi.
Ingredients:
Semiya- 1 cup
Tomatoes- 1 medium
Onion- 2 medium
Green chilli- 4 no
Lemon juice- 1tbsp
Oil- 2 tbsp
Musrad seed- 1 tsp
Jeera- 1 tsp
Urad daal- 1 tsp
Curry leaves- 4 n0
Grond nut- 2tbsp
Cilantro- 2 tbsp
Turmeric- pinch
Water- 2 cups or for boiling the semiya
Ginger- 1tbsp
Preparations:
1. In a large bowl, add 2 cups of water, semiya, 1 tsp of oil and cook till semiya is done.
2. Drain the water from it and run the semya under cool water(under tap) and keep aside.
3. Finely chop the onion, green chilli, tomato and cilanto and keep aside.
Method:
1. Heat oil in the pan, add mustard seeds, when they crackle, add jeera.
2. Add turmeric powder, urad daal, green chilli, ginger(grated), curry leaves , ground nuts and fry for 2mts.
3. Add onion chopped and saute till onion becomes transparent.
4. Add tomato ch0pped, salt, lemon juice, mix well and cook till tomatoes becomes soft.
5. Check the salt, add cooked semiya to it, cilantro chopped, stir well and cook for 3mts.
6. Now it is done. Serve hot with any pickle or podi.

Note:
To this u can also add vegetables like carots, potatoes, beans or green peas etc. So that the dish looks rich and healthy too.
