There are many varities in Semiya. We get hand made one, medium thick and very thin semiya. The same procedure is applicable for all the types of semiya kheer. Today I am preparing it with Thin semiya..
Ingredients:
Thin Semiya- 1 cup
Milk- 4 cups (U can add less or more milk)
Sugar- 1.5 cups
Cardamom powder- 1tsp
Cashew- 10 no
Raisins- 10 no
Ghee- 2 tbsp
Preparations:
1. Add 1 tsp of ghee and roast the semiya till light golden colour, cool it and keep a side.
Method:
1. Heat ghee in pan, add cashew nuts fry little, when they are half done, add raisins and fry both of them, remove from ghee and keep separately(don't burn the nuts, u can add any type of nuts if u want).
2. Add roasted semiya to the pan, add milk and let it come to the boiling stage.
3. Add sugar, cardamom powder, mix well and again let it boil abt 3mts.
4. Check the consistency and keep stirring thruout the preparation, be careful that it won't get burnt at the bottom.
5. Check the sugar, add roasted nuts,mix well and switch off the stove.
Note:
1. U can serve it hot or chilled.
2. It can be preserved till 4days.
3. Use the non stick pan or heavy bottomed pan to prepare this.
4. U can add half water and half milk to it or entirely u can prepare with milk itself.
5. As per ur taste u can increase or decrease the sugar quantity.
6. U can add any varity of nuts to it.
