Spinach Daal(Palakura pappu)

Spinach Daal is a very healthy dish, mainly the vegetarians won't eat meat, so the proteins comes from the Daals. Enjoy the recipe.






Ingredients:

Spinach- 1 cup
Tour daal-1 cup (or moong daal)
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Jeera- 1 tsp
Urad daal- 2tsp
Turmeric Powder- Pinch
Curry leaves- 5 no
Coriander leaves- For the taste
Salt- for taste
Oil- 3tsp
Hing- Pinch
Green chilli- 4 no
Red chilli- 2 no
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Daniya powder- 1tsp
lemon juice- 1 tbsp(Optional)
Tomato-1 big
Onion- 1 small
Green onion- 1/4 cup (Spring onion-Optional)
Garlic, ginger paste- 1tsp


Preparations:


1. Wash the spinach and chop it.
2. Wash the Tour daal(or Moong daal), boil it in the cooker about 3 vissles, keep it a side.
3. Chop the onion and tomato into small slices.
4. Chop the green chilli, coriander leaves.


Method:


1. Heat oil in the pan, add mustard seeds, when they crackle, add hing and jeera.
2. Add turmeric powder, urad daal, red chilli, green chilli, curry leaves, Mix well and cook for 2mts.
3. Add Garlic, ginger paste, onion and saute it for 2mts.
4. Add tomato chopped and spinach chopped, daniya powder, salt, chilli powder, mix well and cook for 5mts.
5. Now add the boiled tour daal, keep the lid and cook for 3mts.
6. Check the salt. Add lemon juice, coriander leaves, give a proper mix and switch off the stove.








Note:
1. I have used Tour daal which can be replaced by any other daal or combination of daal's also can be used.
2. This goes very well with rice, chapathi, puri and paratha's as well...

Spinach Daal..I have followed the instructions exactly..and could not believe myself preparing it when I tasted it. It was good. I did not know about water quantity, so it became little lose because of adding more water. I will try some other recipe tomorrow..

Swapna garu..This is the second recipe which we have tried..malli Pavan gari chethula meedhigaa ribbon cutting jarigindhi..:)....instructions strict gaa follow ayaamu...Software engineers bashaloo - CTRL C + CTRL V ( Copy and Paste) chesamanamaataa...Pavan gari adhwariyamuloo palakuraa pappu super gaa vachindhi...Thanks for the recipe once again...
