Majjiga Charu is very tasty one which is made of Majjiga means "Curd or Yogurt". Take little sour yogurt, add little sour cream, add seasoning then serve with rice. That's it.
Ingredients:
Yogurt- 1 cup
Sour cream- 1/4 cup
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Jeera- 1 tsp
Hing- pinch
Turmeric- 1/8 tsp
Green chilli- 2 no
Garlic- 2 no
Curry leaves- 4 no
Cilantro- 2 tbsp
Salt- for taste
Oil- 2 tsp
Ginger- 1 tsp
Red chilli- 2 no
Preparations:
1. Wash and chop the green chilli, ginger, garlic, curry leaves, cilantro and keep aside.
Method:
1. Heat oil in the pan, add hing, mustard seeds, when they crackle, add jeera.
2. Add turmeric, curry leaves, ginger and garlic paste, mix well and fry abt 1mt.
3. Add green chilli, red chilli and turn off the stove.
4. In a bowl, take yogurt and sour cream, add little water and mix well.
5. Add the salt, pepper powder, seasoning to the yogurt and mix well.
6. It should have little creamy texture, check the salt.
7. Add finely chopped cilantro, mix well and leave it about 30mts before serving with rice. So that the seasoning and turmeric will mix properly and gives good taste to the Majjiga charu.
