Idli- The delicious breakfast

Idli is one of the delicious and very light food. Which can be made in 10mts if the batter is ready.

The recipe for Idli is:

Ingredients:
1. Idli Ravva- 3 cups
2. Urad daal- 1.5 cups
3. Soda- pinch
4. Salt- 1.5 tsp
5. water (enough)

Preparation of Idli batter:

1. Wash Urad daal and soak it in water for about 8hrs (or overnight).

2. Wash the Idli ravva and soak about 3hrs.

Note: Both ravva and urad daal needs to be soaked seperately.
3. After 8hrs, wash the daal properly and grind as a soft batter by adding enough water (The batter should not be too thin and should not add any salt during grinding)

4. Drain the water from the Idli ravva, squeeze ravva with hands to drain the water completely, put in a bowl.

5. Now add the urad daal batter to it, add enough salt (1.5 tsp), pinch of soda and mix everything properly.
6. Now leave the batter about 6 to 8hrs at room temperature. After 8hrs, the batter should be mixed properly, now it is ready to make yummy Idli's.
Making Idli:

Note: We should have a Idli vessel to prepare Idli's. This can be available at any Indian Stores.

1. Take Idli plates and keep it under running tap, and drain all the water from it.
2. Take a spoon, put enough batter into each hole of Idli plate.
3. Arrane plates one by one.

4. Put 1 glass of water at the bottom of Idli vessel, put the Idli plates, cover with the lid, and put it on stove at medium high flame for abt 10mts. (The time varies from one vessel to other also depends on no.of Idli's we prapare. )
5. When the steam started coming out, should check by touching the Idli with the finger, when the batter won't stick to the hand then the Idli's are done. (Can also check it with the sharp knife, dip the knife in the idli, when it comes without sticking then idli is done)

6. Now remove the Idli plates, Take out idli's by a sharp small spoon. The Idlis are done, cane be served with Ground nut chutney, coconut or Allam(ginger) chutney, Sambar or Sugar.
